Preston North End Legend Sir Tom Finney spent more than 20 years at the lilywhites scoring scoring 187 goals in 433 appearances. It all began when he started up his own plumbing business whilst playing professional football, a man of many talents on and off the football pitch. Finney was labelled amougst the greatest that has or will ever grace the turf, described by many as the complete footballer. Not many footballers can boast the talents Finney had; able to shoot with either foot. The one club man is a true Preston Legend. Finney capped 76 times for England scoring an impressive 30 times. Finney was part of the 1954 FA cup final defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

The Tom Finney statue was sculpted by Peter Hodkinson and unveiled by Tom Finney himself, the master piece is there for all to see outside the clubs stadium. The statue was inspired from the famous photo taken at Stamford Bridge, in the game between Chelsea and Preston North End in the year 1956.
